How We Celebrated Black History Month 2023
Black History Month is an important part of our year at Cloré. It's a time when we get to honour and celebrate the Black community as a whole, and find new ways to build meaningful connections with our local community. For BHM 2023, we worked closely with friends and Toronto locals to put on some amazing events. Starting with our Black-Owned Business Marketplace!
Black Owned Business Marketplace
We wanted to hold a Black History Month celebration that showcased local Toronto businesses. Our Black-Owned Business Market featured demos and samples, as well as a unique shopping experience that gave customers the chance to engage with incredible local business owners and their products. Black Futures Panel
At the start of February, we hosted a panel to discuss Black Futures in Canada. The conversation was informative, inspirational, uplifting and we hope it affects change within society. The panel was hosted by Eboni Morgan and our panellists included Dwayne Rutherford, Jackie Clarke and Eboni Ledford. Check out the videos below to hear the full discussion!
In Part 1, we discussed Black entrepreneurship in Canada and ways that Cloré can continue to contribute to the growth and survival of Black Owned Businesses.
In Part 2, we discussed ways that adequate education and resources can be provided for the Black community in order to ensure success. We also talked about more ways that Cloré can contribute to this.
In Part 3, we discussed ways that Black creatives in Canada, more specifically Toronto, ON can be nurtured and positioned for success.
In Part 4, we discussed ways that the Black community and also non-black allies can come together to affect positive change.
Black Diamond Ball
Finally, this last weekend, the Cloré team and our fabulous guest list had an amazing time at the Black Diamond Ball Toronto. We were an official sponsor of the event, and the VIP gifting suite was also named after us!
From the incredible black carpet interviews, to the food, live music, talented vendors, stunning gowns and the Cloré Luxe Gifting Suite... we had a night to remember!
