How to Nail the Natural Feathered Brow Look
No matter how much or how little brow hair you're working with, here's how to get that fluffy, feathery brow look.
To get gorgeous fluffy brows, you need both the correct tools and the technique. This combo can give us naturally fuller-looking brows, regardless of what you're starting out with. There are hundreds of different products that can be used to create a fuller and more definite eyebrow. From gels to powders, pencils to brushes, you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to eyebrow makeup. The trick is to use your product to follow your natural eyebrow shape freehand. Eyebrow makeup is great because it is cost effective and you have complete creative control over how your brows will look.
Whether you like to feather just the inner portion of your brows like Rihanna and Logan Browning, or really fluff them up from inner brow right to the tail like SZA and Zendaya, here are our top tips to get the look:
- Use your brow product (a pencil or angled brush and pomade works best) to trace a light line underneath your brow from the inner corner to the outer corner in the shape that you like.
- Starting from that line, in the inner corners, draw light strokes upwards as if you’re drawing the individual brow hairs.
- Gently blend with a spoolie brush.
- Keep lightly adding hair-like strokes and gently combing with a spoolie to build volume. Remember that as you move outward on your brows, the strokes should go in an upward and outward direction. Keep a light hand, and keep stepping back from the mirror to check you aren't overdoing it!
